ABOUT THE ARTIST

Fran Williams Wagner was born in 1916 in San Francisco, California, and currently lives and works at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown.  Having an illustrious and prolific career behind her, she was commissioned to do dozens of ceramic, sculptural murals across the country, many of which still stand.  Colorful and vibrant, a few smaller pieces indicative of her ceramic work can be viewed at the Lynden Gallery, along with the working forms in her journals.

Ms. Wiliams Wagner's art background includes study in Oakland at the California School of Arts and Crafts;, in San Francisco at Rudolf Schaefer School of Design.  In Miami her studies have been with Byron G. Newton and Lee Dickens, and also two years in Miami with Mr. Newton and Lee Dickens, and also two years in Eugene Massin's Studio.  She has studied sculpture with Al Vranan and wood block with Larry Donovan and Carol Summers.

Among her awards are included presentations from Lowe Gallery, Blue Dome, Miami Art League, Ceramic Annual, Design Derby, Tampa State Fair, Florida Craftsmen and Florida Federation of Art.  In Florida she had solo exhibitions at the Contemporary Art Gallery in Pinellas Park, Roque Galery II in Coral Gables, Martello Towers in Key West, the Art Center, Miami Beach, and Artists Unlimited in Key West, and in the Sisti Gallery, Buffalo, New York.  Her work was included group shows at The Gallery, Ft.
