THE SUSQUEHANNA WALDORF SCHOOL (SWS) is located in the small rural town of Marietta, along the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania's Susquehanna Valley. SWS is a nonprofit educational institution, licensed by the state of Pennsylvania as a private academic school offering parent/child classes from infant to toddler, as well as nursery, kindergarten and grades 1 through 8. The school draws students from the Lancaster, York, Hershey and Harrisburg areas; and, currently 165 students from 120 families attend. SWS has been sponsored by the Kimberton Waldorf School for the past several years. In September 2002, SWS began the formal accreditation process through an intense self-study. Fortuitously the accreditation fell on the heels of AWSNA's (Association of Waldorf Schools of North America) 75-year anniversary. This accreditation recognizes SWS with full membership status. SWS is pleased to be a part of this national celebration as full participants of the worldwide Waldorf movement.
