PA ARTS EXPERIENCE, The Lower Susquehanna River Valley, will debut with a sampling of artists who will be participating in this statewide initiative of working studios open to tourists.  A Wine and Cheese Artists' Reception of nearly 20 participants will be held at Lynden Gallery on Friday, September 14 from 5:00 to 8:00.  Live entertainment will be provided by the Susquehanna Valley's newly formed string band, "Along for the Ride."   Lynden Gallery encourages the public to support this ongoing venue for committed musicians to perform with a suggested cover charge of $3.00.

Spearheaded by Rob Evans, this new Artist Trail will connect with existing trails in the state and encourage visitors to Pennsylvania to engage in, and support the visual arts.  This exhibition, hosted by the Lynden Gallery in Elizabethtown, includes only a small selection of those who will be included on the trail.  Plans are currently being developed for a jury process of interested artists and artisans interested in participating.  Works include those by Reed Dixon, Frances Donnelly Wolf, Sylvia Eisenbise Lehman, Rob Evans, Claire Giblin, Janet Hammond, Constantine Kermes, Matthew Lawrence, Stephen March, Bob Patierno, Sue Reno, Linda Mylin Ross, Ellen Slupe, Brad Stroman, JD Wissler, Mark Workman and Bev Zimmerman.

The lower Susquehanna River Valley is the first of three regions to be featured as part of the PA Arts Experience, which will soon include the Brandywine and Delaware River Valley regions. For centuries, artists and artisans have been attracted by the area’s sublime landscape - the broad Susquehanna River, dramatic river bluffs, gentle hills, and fertile farmland-as well as the distinctive architecture of its historic cities and towns.  Today, renowned artists continue the region’s artistic tradition working in unique studios tucked away in renovated barns or restored spaces.

The PA Arts Experience allows you to see these extraordinary artists firsthand in a studio setting.  Visitors can take time to explore the scenic countryside, discover the regions many fine galleries, museums and antique shops.  Enjoy a glass of locally produced wine, or dine on the fresh produce and cuisine of rural Pennsylvania or stay overnight to retire in a quaint B&B. The Lancaster Arts Hotel, central to the trail, is a sophisticated hostelry housed in a renovated tobacco warehouse.  For more information on the trail, or to schedule your customized tour, please call 717-917-1630 or visit www.PaArtsExperience.com.

ALONG FOR THE RIDE considers themselves to be a bluegrass band, but they have a definitive style reflecting their mid-twentieth century roots. Much of their music is original, written by the band members themselves, in a folksy, blues, acoustical style.  Lynne Hockley, Jeff Eisenbise, Karen Wenger and Jesse Eisenbise of Elizabethtown and Hershey, make up the band.  When the youngest member, Jesse brought the group to fruition, his father, Jeff, agreed to come "along for the ride."
