SPAGHETTI GYPSIES     back to GALLERY EVENTS for upcoming Jazz     musicians

BRANDON HOLLINGER saxophone, clarinet and flute

Since graduating from Eastman School of Music, Brandon has been teaching private lessons in Lancaster and has had the pleasure of palying in diverse settings with groups like Break City (jazz), Virginia's Furnace Mountain Band (celtic), Spaghetti Gypsies (gypsy/latin), NC's SNMNMNM (geek rock) Boston's Hypnotic Clambake (eclectic), Lancaster's Inca Campers (folk).

Known by friends and collegues for his constant search for musical inspiration and his passionate belief in "leaving a small footprint" in the natural world, Brandon ardently bikes, having collected not only a European recumbent, but most recently a nostalgic early 1970's British Raleigh.  He can be seen regularly riding to Central Market in Downtown Lancaster near his home. A recent trip abroad allowed for 4 months of biking and camping, following and recording good music wherever he went.  Finding himself at the tail end of a funeral march or in a pub, he found the most surprising music in unexpected, out of the way places.

Brandon is currently performing with the American Music Theatre (his day job), on Princess Cruises (when on vacation), and most recently with the Harrisburg Symphony's Stuart Malina Big Band, and the Philadelphia Viruosi Chamber Orchestra.

BEATRIX GREINER accordian

Pianist, vocalist, composer, Beatrix Greiner of Lancaster, PA has obtained degrees in classical piano as well as music education from Millersville University.  Trixi also studied at Carnegie Mellon and studied jazz piano with Trudy Pitts at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia.  Brazilian jazz pianists Tania Maria and Eliana Elias, as well as jazz greats Pat Methany, Bill Evans and Keith Jarret influence her music.  Some have compared Trixi's vocals to Joni Mitchell meets Diana Krall meets Nora Jones, although she strives to incorporate the melodic influence of Cesaria Evora and Tania Maria.

As a freelance pianist, Trixi plays frequently around Central Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and Atlantic City. She has played with the eclectic band Burning Bus, the folk band Inca Campers, her Latin jazz trio, Trixi and the Matrix, and occasionally with the gypsy jazz ensemble The Gadjo Playboys.

Trixi has produced seven albums; her latest is entitled "Soul Sculptures" which was recorded with Trixi and the Matrix. She is currently an elementary musci teacher at Leith Walk Elementary in the Baltimore City Public School System.  Her music has been used in several independent movies including the documentary "The Emporer of Hemp." She has appeared in the PBS series "Those Who Must."
