A native of Lancaster, Ryan Kauffman is a saxophonist and private teacher in central and eastern Pennsylvania. He currently leads his own jazz trio and quartet, and has performed throughout the Central PA region, including appearances for Bethlehem Musikfesst, Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz, ancaster Jazz Festival and Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival. He has had the privlege of performing with David Liebman, Steve Giordano, Ron Thomas, Tim Warfield, Steve Wilson and the Manhattan Saxophone Ensemble.
Ryan doubles on the flute and clarinet and has filled the reed chair for various regional and Philadelphia-area theaters. He offers private lessons at teaching studios in Lancaster, at the Wettown School, and is a nine-year faculty member at the Darlingon Fine Arts Center in Boothwyn. He also taught at West Chester University. Ryan holds musci degrees from Eastern Mennonite University and the West Chester University where he earned his masters degree studying with Gunnar Mossblad.
