JOANNE LANDIS     paintings     resume

ARTIST STATEMENT

"The subject of my work is both figurative and narrative.  I create an environment for the figures that mirrors
their internal geography.  The narrations are either straightforward or abstracted and dreamlike, and follow a path
to story - myth sometimes, archetypes sometimes, and everyday women sometimes."
J. Landis 2004
