MILTON GOOD, sculptor While attending Drexel University's Hahnemann Medical College, my appreciation of sculpture began with my visits to the Philadelphia Museum of Art including the Rodin Museum. An additional interest arose from my 40 years of medical practice and the study of the human form. I took stone carving at Franklin and Marshall College. My media ranges from wood carving to marble and stone and into bronzecastings. I have been a member and past president of the American Physicians Art Association and have taken numerous honors and awards for my sculptures, including the prestigious People's Choice award in Nashville Tenessee. Milton Good, 2006 Lynden Gallery is hosting a 90th birthday celebration for artist John L. Lehman on Saturday, April 15, 1006, from 2 to 4 PM, at 117 S. Market St., Elizabethtown. The artist’s work will be on view, featuring drawings and prints. Lehman has worked en pleine air extensively, recording wildflowers as well as landscapes. Much of his art was translated to prints on his Katydid Press, and will be seen in this show for the first time locally. Larger works on oil also will be available. A native of Elizabethtown, PA, John Lehman’s artwork has focused on scenes of the Susquehanna River and the surrounding countryside. His paintings were last shown at Lynden Gallery in a one-man show the summer of 2004. Lehman’s artwork was also featured at the opening of the new Elizabethtown Public Library, and at the Penn State Harrisburg campus gallery within the past few years. Nationally, Lehman’s lithographs, watercolors, and linoprints have been shown variously in juried shows such as The American Watercolor Society, Audubon Artists, Pennsylvania Academy, Brooklyn Museum, Denver Art Museum, Albany NY Miniatures Society, Washington, D.C. Miniatures Society and the New Jersey Miniatures Society. His Katydid Press, which specialized in small books and experimental printing, was featured in an American Artist Magazine article about his platemaking techniques. Work of the press is included in the collections of The Pennsylvania State Library Rare Books Department in Harrisburg, and The Bodleian Library at Cambridge University, Great Britain.
